Gaillardia , blanket flowers, is a genus of drought-tolerant annual and perennial plants from the sunflower family (Asteraceae), native to North and South America. It was named after M. Gaillard de Charentonneau, an 18th-century French magistrate who was a patron of botany. The common name refers to the inflorescence's resemblance to brightly patterned blankets made by native Americans.

Die Pflanzengattung Kokardenblumen (Gaillardia), auch Papageienblumen oder Malerblumen genannt, gehört zur Familie der Korbblütler (Asteraceae). Es gibt etwa 15 bis 29 Arten von den USA bis ins südliche Südamerika und viele Hybriden.

ReplyDeleteWir haben diese Blumen auch im Garten, aber leider haben sich dieses Jahr die Schnecken drüber hergemacht und es sind nur ganz wenige übrig geblieben...
