TODAY'S FLOWERS - Flowers from our garden in Guildwood

Flowers from around the world can be found here:

I am very pleased to be your guest and friend of  TODAY’S FLOWER’S  event.
I wish you a very Happy New Year!!

What a desolate place would be a world without flowers.
It would be a face without a smile;
a feast without a welcome.
Are not flowers the stars of the earth?
Are not our stars the flowers of heaven?

Was ein verwüsteter Ort wäre eine Welt ohne Blumen.
Es wäre ein Gesicht ohne ein Lächeln;
Ein Festmahl ohne einen Empfang.
Sind Blumen nicht die Sterne der Erde?
Sind unsere Sterne nicht die Blumen des Himmels?

Journey to Bethlehem - A beautiful Christmas Concert ...

"Christmas at Concordia: Journey to Bethlehem," which was recorded in December 2009 for national broadcast in December 2010, has received the National Program Service (NPS) designation from PBS. Most stations across the country will air the concert.

We have been privileged to see and listen to the concert in our home on Christmas Eve.

The concert was presented by PBS, WNED Buffalo, N.Y.
Today, the Concordia Christmas Concerts include five choirs and a full orchestra. In the past, mural production was accomplished with the assistance of over 100 volunteers from both campus and community. In 2009, newly commissioned artist Paul Johnson designed and printed the mural digitally for the first time in the concert's history.

The purpose of Concordia College is to influence the affairs of the world
by sending into society thoughtful and informed men and women
dedicated to the Christian life.

I wish you a Merry Christmas... Ich wünsche Euch frohe Weihnachten ...

"Every year at just this time,
In cold and dark December,
Families around the world
All gather to remember,
With presents and with parties,
With feasting and with fun,
Customs and traditions
for people old and young."
- Helen H. Moore

Ein Flockenheer schwebt sanft und sacht,
als weißes Kleid zur Erde nieder,
es kündet an die heil'ge Nacht,
von ferne klingen Weihnachtslieder.
In Stadt und Land erleuchten Kerzen,
Weihnachtskugeln zieren Tannenzweige,
das große Fest bewegt die Herzen,
nur das Jahr senkt sich zur Neige.
