Lady Slipper orchid - Cypripedium Reginae
Slipper orchids, lady slipper orchids or slipper orchids are the orchids in the subfamily Cypripedioidea, which includes the genera Cypripedium, Mexipedium, Paphiopedilum, Phragmipedium and Selenipedium. The Lady's Slipper is also the official provincial flower since April 25, 1947 of Prince Edward Island, a province of Canada .
These delicate flowers should not be picked, nor transplanted, as they will rarely survive a change of habitat. The Lady slipper orchid is found across much of North America,
as well as in parts of Europe.
Frauenschuh Orchidee

Good bye ..

Good bye to spring, summer and fall in our Guildwood garden.
No shade, no shine,
no butterflies, no bees,
no fruits, no flowers,
It is November!"

- George Orwell
