TODAY'S FLOWERS- one more bouquet from the garden

TODAY'S FLOWERS from around the world
can be viewed here:

Arranging a bowl of flowers gives me joy, a sense of peace
- like walking alone along the lake
and listening to the sound of the waves coming ashore.
(guild-rez 2009)

Araneus diatematus - Orb Spider - Radnetzspinnen

Very interesting orange coloured spider belonging to the Orb-weaver spiders (family Araneidae) found in the garden.
They are the builders of spiral wheel-shaped webs often found in gardens, fields and forests. Their common name is taken from the round shape of this typical web. Orb-weavers have eight similar eyes, legs hairy or spiny and no stridulating organs. The family is cosmopolitan, including many well-known large or brightly colored garden spiders. There are more than 2,800 species in over 160 genera worldwide, making this the third largest family of spiders known (behind Salticidae and Linyphiidae).

Autumn - Herbst.. few more lovely days

Autumn begins with a subtle change in the light,
with skies a deeper blue,
and nights that become suddenly clear and chilled.
The season comes full with the first frost,
the disappearance of migrant birds,
and the harvesting of the season's last crops.

Around our house - flowers arrangements are gone
and changed to pumpkins, flowering kale and other decorations.

TODAY'S FLOWERS - Fall bouquet - Herbststrauss

TODAY'S FLOWERS from around the world
can be viewed here:
"A few days ago I walked along the edge of the lake
and was treated to the crunch and rustle of leaves with each step I made.
The acoustics of this season are different
and all sounds, no matter how hushed,
are as crisp as autumn air."
